Our firm is distinguished by its deep understanding of local and international legal frameworks and its ability to navigate the intersection of law, business, and policy. We advise a diverse portfolio of clients, including creatives, multinational corporations, financial institutions, and high-net-worth individuals, on high-stakes intellectual property transactions, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, and cross-border matters.

Our story

Four Pillars.
One Conviction.

Where we started

The entertainment, technology and intellectual property industries have grown faster than almost any sector around them. Across Nigeria and the wider African continent, artists, creators and founders are building businesses with global reach, and the legal questions they face have become more specific, more technical and more consequential.

We have seen what that means up close. An artist weighing a deal that will shape the next decade of their career. A creator trying to understand exactly where their royalties flow. A founder thinking through how a new product will sit with regulators. A business discovering that its most valuable asset is something it cannot touch.

These are the moments where careers and companies are built. They deserve advice that is commercially grounded, attentive to the people involved and shaped by a close understanding of how these industries really work, both at home and abroad.

The question

So, we asked ourselves a simple question: what would it look like to advise this industry from within? From inside the deal, inside the culture, inside the code.

Our answer was to build a firm that begins with intellectual property, entertainment and technology, and grows outward from there.

Our conviction

Behind every contract is a career. Behind every product, someone's belief in the future. Behind every dispute, someone who trusted the system to protect them and needed it to.

In an industry this fast and this personal, specialist understanding makes all the difference.

That belief shaped how we built Ducrest Partners: around four pillars, each one chosen deliberately and designed to work together.

01

Entertainment

Securing the people and value behind the deal.

We advise artists, creators, producers, platforms and businesses on the deals that shape careers and commercial futures, from rights and representation to licensing, distribution and strategic partnerships. Every agreement we structure starts with two questions: what is our client building, and what will it need to protect five years from now?

02

Technology

Building for what comes next.

Technology moves faster than the frameworks written to govern it. We advise founders and businesses on products, platforms, data protection, digital assets, policy and regulatory compliance, and we understand the product before we advise on it. Sound legal thinking belongs in the build from day one.

03

Intellectual Property

Safeguarding the assets that make the business valuable.

In a creative and increasingly digital economy, intellectual property is not an accessory to the business. It is the business. We help clients identify, register, structure, commercialise and enforce the rights beneath their brands, catalogues, content and technology.

04

Dispute Resolution

Defending value when the deal breaks down.

Dispute Resolution runs through the three pillars above. When a collaboration fails, a catalogue is claimed or a platform is challenged, the stakes are commercial, creative and personal at once. We bring sector knowledge to disputes, enforcement and negotiations, so our strategy reflects how these industries actually work.

The engine beneath the pillars

Specialist insight only matters if it can be executed. Our corporate commercial, regulatory and transactional capability turns that insight into sound structures, clean transactions, effective governance and workable compliance.

The result is one integrated firm, built to protect, grow and defend the businesses working at the edge of culture, creativity and technology.

We did not stumble into this industry.
We chose it.
